Mediator-led Sessions
Mediators are integral to Science Gallery Bengaluru’s public engagement programme: our target audience of young adults not only visit and learn from, but also drive the experience of the exhibition. Mediators listen, provoke questions, tell stories, and guide visitor experiences through the exhibition season. Having trained with artists and researchers, mediators are uniquely positioned to captivate, intrigue, and enrapture their audience.
Mediator-led sessions also provide the opportunity for each visitor to bring their unique insight and experiences into a conversation sparked by the exhibits, events, and programmes.
During CONTAGION, mediators conducted sessions in English as well as in various Indian languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
We also ran a live experiment during the mediator-led sessions, wherein visitors played a short game with each other. This experiment, designed by researchers at the University College London, sought to investigate how ideas and behaviours can spread in crowds.
